Waniskâ Watch Information and Legal Notice
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Waniskâ Watch is a public-information and research platform operated by Waniskâ Services Inc.
Information for purposes only
Waniskâ Watch provides general information intended to help communities, Nations, organizations, and members of the public locate and better understand publicly reported mining claims, mineral rights, leases, exploration activities, proposed projects, and mining operations.
The platform does not provide legal, regulatory, consultation, environmental, technical, financial, investment, land-use or other professional advice. Nothing on Waniskâ Watch constitutes a legal opinion, title opinion, rights determination, consultation assessment or recommendation to take or refrain from taking any action.
Public and third-party information
Waniskâ Watch compiles and presents information obtained from publicly available government registries, government datasets and other identified third-party sources.
Although reasonable efforts are made to review, organize and update the information, government and third-party records may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, inconsistent, unavailable or out of date. Information may change between scheduled updates without notice.
Dates described as “retrieved,” “updated” or “last verified” identify when Waniskâ Watch most recently reviewed or processed the cited source. They do not guarantee that the source or record remains unchanged.
Waniskâ Watch is not an official government registry and does not replace information maintained by the responsible federal, provincial, territorial, municipal or Indigenous authority.
Independent verification and non-reliance
Information displayed by Waniskâ Watch must be independently verified and must not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision.
Before acting on any information, users should verify the record directly with the responsible government registry and, where applicable, the affected First Nation, Inuit, Métis, or other Indigenous government, community, rights holder, lands office, or consultation office.
Users remain responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice and completing their own legal, regulatory, environmental, technical and community due diligence.
Indigenous rights, title and territorial context
Treaty boundaries, modern agreement areas, traditional territories, Indigenous lands, Métis homelands, Inuit regions and other territorial information shown on Waniskâ Watch are provided as geographic context only.
Mapped boundaries and spatial intersections may be generalized, overlapping, incomplete, disputed or based on information produced by governments or third parties. They do not define or determine Indigenous rights, Aboriginal title, treaty rights, traditional use, harvesting rights, jurisdiction, consultation or accommodation obligations, consent, community support, ownership or the legal status of any land.
The absence of a Nation, community, territory, right or interest from the map does not mean that it does not exist or is not affected.
A mineral claim, lease, permit, licence, application, proposed project or operating record does not establish that consultation has occurred, that consent has been provided, or that all required authorizations have been obtained.
Companies, individuals and project relationships
Company and individual names are reproduced as recorded in cited public sources for identification and research.
Labels such as “Recorded holder,” “Recorded operator,” “Applicant,” “Proponent,” or “Recorded lease holder” describe only the relationship reported by the cited source. Inclusion does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by Waniskâ Services, nor does it imply wrongdoing, consultation, consent, ownership beyond the recorded interest, or operational activity beyond the status displayed.
Professional contact information is included only where it has been made publicly available for business or professional communication. Waniskâ Watch does not intentionally publish private residential addresses, private telephone numbers or other private personal contact information.
Maps, coordinates and record classifications
Coordinates, claim boundaries, territorial intersections and other mapped features may be simplified, generalized or spatially inferred. They may not be suitable for surveying, navigation, legal description, emergency response, staking, regulatory filings or determining the precise location or extent of a right or interest.
Terms and classifications vary between government registries. A record described as “active” or “current” means that the most recently reviewed source did not clearly identify it as expired, cancelled, surrendered, closed or otherwise inactive. It does not guarantee that work is underway or that the holder is in full regulatory compliance.
No warranties
Waniskâ Watch and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Waniskâ Services makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, concerning the accuracy, completeness, currency, availability, fitness for a particular purpose or reliability of the platform or its content.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Waniskâ Services and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and service providers will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, claim or expense arising from or connected with access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance upon Waniskâ Watch or any information, map, link or third-party source made available through the platform.
This includes, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, economic or business losses; lost opportunities; lost profits; project delays; consultation or regulatory consequences; and decisions made or actions taken based on the platform.
Nothing in this notice excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
External sources and links
Links to government registries and third-party websites are provided for convenience and source verification. Waniskâ Services does not control those websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, accuracy, privacy practices or content. A link does not imply affiliation, approval or endorsement.
Government and third-party information remains subject to the terms, licences and attribution requirements established by its respective provider.
Corrections and updates
Waniskâ Services may add, revise, suspend or remove information at any time without notice. We do not undertake to monitor or update every record immediately after its source changes.
To report an apparent error or request a correction, contact info@waniskaservices.ca and include the record identifier, jurisdiction and official source where possible.
Submission of a correction request does not guarantee that a record will be changed. Waniskâ Services may preserve the published government record while adding clarification or directing users to the responsible authority.
